Ceramic and quartz glass processing incl. diamond lapping

In addition to the processing of conventional materials, SCHAEFER also offers the processing of various ceramics and quartz glass. These materials are playing an increasingly important role in the semiconductor industry in particular due to their ESD conductivity. We have ultrasonic production capacities and surface finishing with diamond lapping machines for that purpose. CNC machining of ceramics is particularly complex, as the material is hard, brittle and temperature-sensitive. Even the smallest defects can lead to cracks or breakage, which requires maximum precision. Thanks to our specialized machines and processes as well as our skilled employees, we can ensure economical and damage-free machining.
